The Rum Runners’ Ball  at Bluenose Lodgeis set in 1930,

when rum running was an            

  important part of the                             

Nova Scotia South Shore economy.

 

A quirky set of characters reveal the trials of Prohibition in a small town.               

 The community is divided between    

 teetotalers, and those who prefer something stronger.                          

    You’ll meet Snuffer Pearl, the local rum runner, Betty Hirtle, his bootlegging buddy,

Blanche Keddy, head of the local Temperance Union, and Henry Oickle,

keyboard player and man-about-town. 

 

Original songs include ‘The Rum Runners’ Ball’, ‘Betty the Hoocher’,

Call of the Demon Rum”, and ‘I Hate the Sea

(dedicated to those who spend the voyage hanging over the lee rail).

A drink of "Snuffer's Rum" and Gratuities are included
